The answer depends upon a number of factors. What law are you being charged with violating? Is it a state statute? Is it a County Ordinance? Is it a Municipal Ordinance? The possible punishments and likely consequences are going to be different in each case. Also, do you plan on simply going to Court on your own and pleading guilty? I believe that this would be a mistake on your part. Are you able to hire an attorney? This would definitely be in your best interests! An attoney should be able to help you either sucessfully defend the charge against you or at least negotiate a plea bargain that will enable you to avoid many of the negative consequences that result from taking a conviction on a criminal charge. Please hire an attorney. You may call me for a consultation if you do not already hve an attorney. If I am not able to help you myself, I may be able to refer you to someone who can.
