Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Missouri

Im a fifteen year old girl, who has a 2 month old child. I cannot handle the stress of my parents bossing me around of how to raise my child. I also cannot take the stress of my mother smoking, my father yelling or his negativity all the time. I would like to know, how i would be able to move out at fifteen.???

If you feel you are in personal physical or psychological peril, you may call for assistance from the Division of Family Services. They may place you and or your child lin foster care, but they should get help for you both. Your high school or school district might also have programs to help you get counseling and training.

Other than getting the State to help, you will have to get emancipated. If you can show that you can live on your own and support both you and your child, you can petition the court to declare you emancipated. That means you no longer have to listen to your parents, and they no longer have to provide you food and housing. If you cannot prove that you can support you both without state aid, you will have to get married to someone who can. Getting emancipated may sound cool, but is a much more drastic step than most teenagers realize.

If you try to explain your level of frustration to yrou parents, they may agree to do some voluntary family counseling with you. Remeber, they are probably not to thrilled that their practically still fourteen-year-old daughter was having sex and got pregnant. No parent brags about that. Hopefully you are getting chidl support form the father or his parents. If not, you might pursue that to take some of the stress off yoru parents, so they will stress you out less.

There are two things to remember. Every first time mother of atwo month old, is hypersensitve to th eword snd actions of their love ones. Practically all fiiftten year olds think their parents don't understand them and strees them out by hassling them about their life. You have the double whammy. Therefore, you are probably even more stressed and sensitve than most new mothers and most other teenage girls.

Good luck
