I would strongly advise you to hire an attorney to represent your daughter on this charge. Although she may be able to get a break without an attorney, there are many reasons why it woould be worth the cost. first of all, an attorney might be able to have the charge dismissed depending upon the exact facts involved, the position of the prosecutor, the makeup of the judge and various other factors. If dismissal is not possible, an attorney should be able to negotiate a plea bargain that will avoid your daughter haveing a conviction upon her record. An alcohol related conviction could have very substantial negative consequences for her in many different ways. I have handled many such cases in the thirty-five years I have been practicing law, and I might be able to offer my services for a reasonable fee. Please feel free to contact me.
