My Dad is under the assumption that he would be liable and legally responsible if something bad happened after my friends and I, who are all 21, leave our house after drinking when everyone brought over their own alcohol and none was provided. Is this correct?

Maybe. There are cases where a homeowner is hled liable for aiding and abetting a drunk driver. They are very rare, but possible.
