Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Can I get a name change? Ive lived on Social Security Disability since 1997. I am a full time transgendered female @ have used a different name since 2000 I am turning 50 this Nov and don't want to die with my birth name! I have had two credit card garnishmetns within the last 2-3 years. But since i receive disability they can not touch my social security. I want to change my name legally but do not know if a (Judge) will grant me a Name change since i have two credit card garnishments! I do not identify myself with my birth name @ want that changed, I am not tring to hide from the garnishments, they will always be able to find me with my social security number because i receive social security! I live like all other women live their lives, i've had breast surgery and hormones since 2000. Thank you very much!

If you notify your creditors, I see no problem with

Obtaining a name change.

I believe that you may still obtain an Order granting a name change, although you will need to plead and prove that you are not seeking a name change to defraud creditors.
