Grand mother is taking care of grand baby. What do I need to be able to keep the baby all of the time, with mothers permission, and make it legal?

The baby's Mother could sign a specific power of attorney giving the grandmother authority to do everything necessary to care for the child. If you go this route, the Mother would need to do this once every year for so long as everyone was in agreement. Mother would still have legal custody of the baby and could revoke the power of attorney at any time.
