Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Court appointed attorney

Judges can appoint counsel under the Inherent Power of the Court. Can I ask him to do that in my child custody case? If so how do I make my request known to him? Also, I have contacted MORE THAN 60 attorneys in my area and every single one has turned me away because I have no retainer. I went to legal aid and they said they had knowledge of the other party and refuses to help my even though I qualify. My ex has his own private attorney and I have never contacted them before... Several attornys have looked at my docs and said that I have a solid case, or a good case and that my ex doesnt have much of one..but still noone will help me. I am going to lose my son...what can I do. They all tell me not to go to court without an attorney. My ex knows I have no attorney and has started acting up. I need help..where do I look? Thank you.

Re: Court appointed attorney

I have already emailed you privately, and I will await your response. In any event, in answer to your question, the Court is not going to appoint an attorney to represent you. You might consider contacting the bar association if the county where this case is pending to get a referral to an attorney who might be able to help you. The referral itself is usually free of charge, but the attorney might charge a consultation fee. Good luck.
