I am living and working in St Louis. My daughters father is in Illinois and we need to establish custody.

Hello. If your daughter is with you in St. Louis

and she has been with you, or was born there, then you have to go to court to establish custody in St. Louis. However, if the case started here in Illinois, you are going to have to get custody established in Illinois. There are a few more issues to deal with and discuss here.
