Re: Divorce question

In divorce cases it is sometimes necessary to obtain a Court Order covering such things as child custody, child support, maintenance, attorney's fees, and so forth early on during the legal proceedings. This Court Order will be in effect while the case is going through the Court system. Attorney's will file a "Motion Pendente Lite" in order to get this done. I believe that "Pendente Lite" is actually very old French legalese which may be translated as "pending the litigation". We use the abbreviated term "PDL" in these regards quite often simply to save time. I hope that this explanation helps you.
