Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Evidence needed to show wife's alcohol problems persist

I am a male and looking to get custody of my children if I divorce. My wife has an alcohol problem that contributes to the problems. She has not lost jobs due to it but evenings she gets drunk about 2 times a month. I also travel in my business.

Custody battles can be quite difficult for everyone involved and also can be of considerable expense. Still, if you are concerned about the welfare of your children, you have every right, and perhaps a moral duty to do whatever you can do to protect them, including seeking custody in a divorce. No competent attorney would try to offer you specific legal advice in this situation without meeting with you and learning as much as possible about the situation. Some attorneys might offer a free consultation, and others will charge for any time you spend with them. Some will require you to put down a substantial retainer fee before even beginning to discuss this matter with you. You definitely do need to consult with an experienced attorney in the county where you will be filing for divorce. Beware of attorneys who use this site only to solicit new business. Good luck to you and your kids.
