Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I grew up in Europe. I am a prem resident here, but no US citizen. My husband and I are about to file for divorce. I have no family or support system here. Can I take my two small children back to my country of origin so I can be with family?

The question you ask has many more variables then you may realize. Generally, you may not take the children out of the country without the consent of the other parent or the court. If you are allowed to move the kids with you out of hte US, you may be required to pay the air fare for the chidlren to have regualr visits with their father. Befoe deciding to leave, you might reconsider establishing a support system here. Obviously, there may be immigration issues that drastically effect your ability to go or stay. You shoudl consult directly with an immigration/ family law attorney in your area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.

Good luck
