Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Procedures for divorce out of state

I moved to Kentucky four months ago from Missouri where I got married. We have nothing to fight over like kids, debt or property, so I need to know what I need to do to get a divorce here in Kentucky and, about how long it may take and average cost. Any answers are much apprecatied. Thank you

you must be a resident of kentucky for six months before you can file for divorce. at that time, your divorce should take about 30-90 days depending on how easy it is to get everyone to sign the paperwork. i would be more than glad to discuss this with you in more detail if you wish to e-mail me at [email protected] to set up an appointment.

To get a divorce in Kentucky you have to be a resident of the Commonwealth for more than 180 days before filing the action. After that it can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks (sometimes months) before a divorce can be finalized.
