Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My stepsons mother has "custody" of my stepson at this point and time even though she only has him about one week a month at this point. When my stepson is picked up from her residence he is filthy dirty, drinking from moldy sippy cups, is sick or scratched and bruised and it is just very obvious that he is not well cared for what so ever. The mother gets all sorts of financial help and help from my husband and LOTS of help from my in-laws.. What would it take to gain full custody of my stepson and get him out of the bad situation he's in with his mother?

If there is a Court Order granting the mother "custody", your husband would need to file a Motion in Court to modify the existing Order. If there is no Court Order, then he would need to file a Petition in Court seeking an Order of legal and physical custody. I have handled literally hundreds of such cases over the last 35 years, and I might be able to offer my services for a reasonable fee.
