Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Today I found syringes in my ex-girlfriends bedroom, which is the same room my son sleeps in. I called the police but, it was too late. She removed all the articles that could get her in trouble. What legal way should I proceed in order to gain custody of my son? He's not safe living with her since she is now a confirmed drug addict. I'm concerned and worried about his welfare. Please help.

"Ex-girlfriend"? Then, I take it that you were not married to the child's mother at the time the child was born? Did you sign an Affidavit of Paternity? Did the FSD make an administrative determination that you are the child's father? Have you obtained any Judicial determination that you are the child's father? Consult with an attorney and provide the attorney with all of the information needed for the attorney to help you. I have handled many cases such as yours, and it may be possible for you to obtain a Judgment that will protect this child!
