Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My wife and I are separated for 2 months now. The children, 6 and 5, have lived with me their entire lives. This past weekend she picked them up for her routine visit and took them 4 hours away and said they were going to live with her there. we do not have a custody order of any kind.Is this legal?

If you do not have any legal proceedings pending I would advise yo to get some started right away. It may be possible to use the law to obtain an immediate order of custody to be in place until a final Judgment is entered. You do not want to let her have enough time to begin legal proceedings wherever she is located, because that will make eveything much more difficult and expensive. Good luck.
