Legal Question in Medical Leave in Missouri

Employers duties and legal restrictions placed upon employees

I am curious as to how long an employer, after the required form has been returned, has before they notify the employee whether the leave has been accepted or denied. Are there different requirements of notafication if the employee has not returned to work after the form has been submitted? Also is there a legal 15 day limit on the employee to return the FMLA form from the first date of absence?

Designation of FMLA leave

I am not licensed in your state yet. So, I can't advise you on any state claims you may have. But, generally speaking employers must grant your leave withinb two business days, depending on the suffciency of the information YOU give your employer. After your leave has been approved, the employer may impose certain duties upon you, but they have to tell you so before they punish you. Contact a lawyer immediately. If you have trouble finding one, just yell. Of course, in order to receive legal advice you can use, you should have a personal interview with a lawyer. The comments I have made are general and may or may not apply to your situation.
