Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

I have found out after 5 years of raising my daughter that her mother had doubts about paternity in regards to me being my dughters father and forced a paternity test. I was never told anything prior to this that my daughter may not be mine. In addition the mother wants to take the child from me and not alow visitation. Is there a civil case to recover damages both monitary for expenses in raising the child and in emotional and mental pain and suffering lossing rights to the child.

I can think of several claims you could file. However, the end result of a civil lawsuit is to transfer money from defendant to plaintiff, assuming of course that you win.

Does mom have any assets to pursue ?

I agree with the above response. If she knew all along that you were not the father, but told you that you were, and ten accepted all of the benefits of your raising the child for five years, it might even be a case of fraud in which you may obtain a judgment for actual and punitive damages. Does the mother have a lot of money or other assets from which you would acutally be able to collect upon any judgment that you might win?
