The landlord's ability to recover late fees is governed by the lease agreement you signed. You need to read your lease to see if the landlord can charge you the late fees that have been assessed. If there is nothing in the lease providing for late fees, then the landlord cannot charge late fees at all. If late fees are authorized by the lease, the amount of such fees should be in the lease.
