Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

I have a neighbor who lives in a single family dwelling home. My(closed) bedroom window faces their back deck. I am unable to sleep with their music and talking after 10:00 P.M. I have asked them several times to turn the music down and keep their voices down as well as written them a letter and filed a police report. What can I do to get this to stop?

You may need to keep calling the police and making reports to the Home Owners Association. If it persists, you may need to file a civil suit. Prior to filing the suit, you might hire an attorney to send a letter to the neighbor, letting them know that you are serious about the complaint. You might try altering your environment. loud music is one thing, but If talking is too loud in your home, your home may be too thinly insulated. You might try putting a winterizing plastic film over your window, or getting heavier drapes. Obviously, getting a modern multi-pane window would be best, but they can be expensive.

Good luck
