Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

I sold two dogs to a lady in Kentucky, and have paperwork to show our payment agreement. She has not paid, and when she does actually talk to me or return my e-mails, she gives excuses and promises to send money. Do I need a lawyer to take her to court? And what happens if she doesn't show?

If the buyer came to Missouri to purchase and pick up the dog, you can sue her in the county where the sale occurred. You will need to have her served in Kentucky. If she does appear after being served, you can take judgment by default. If she has assets in Missouri, you can execute it with the judgment. if she does not have assets in Missouri (most national banks, have branches in both Missouri and Kentucky, so you can execute on her account in Missouri) If she does not have assets in Missouri, you may have to register your judgment in Kentucky to be able to execute on assets there. If the sale occurred over the internet ot the dog was delivered in Kentucky, then you may have to file the suit in Kentucky.
