Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

I sold many litters of puppies to a pet broker. They currently owe me $1,300 for 3 litters, and now have gone out of business. At one time, I purchased 3 dogs from them with a 2 puppy payback for each one. This means that for each puppy I recieved, I would owe them 2 puppies from a future litter. I specifically asked if there was a time limit involved, as the puppies I got, were of a breed that I didn't currently raise. They agreed that there was no time limit, that the payback puppies could be from a litter of the dogs I purcahased. Now they are out of business, and they want to deduct the price that I would have recieved for the puppies, from the $1,300 they owe me. In effect they are wanting to deduct the value of the pups, instead of what it would cost me to produce the pups.

It appears that you will have to retain counsel to get full value for your bill. They may have to file suit. You did nto indicate how much the value of the puppies is, nor what it would cost you to raise them. If the difference is enough, it will justify the cost of an attorney.

Good luck
