Internaitional debt

I recieved a phonecall from a debt collector that wants to collect money from 5 years ago made by my (now) ex wife in Europe, how can I stop this?

Unless you signed something yourself, you have no obligation on the debt so don't even act politely. Tell them not to call you again, reject in writing any written demand for payment, and then dare them to sue you. Keep a log of any subsequent telephone calls so you have ammunition for a counterclaim under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They are bound to get tired of chasing you with no prospect of recovery. Also, best to occasionally check your credit report in case they put something adverse in there -- if that happens, you can get it corrected but it will take time.
