Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Missouri

Dating an older guy.

I am 17 years old and Im dating a 32 year old man. I was wondering if there was anything my mom could do about it. Because she dont totally agree on the whole topic. I dont want him to get into trouble or anything. So if you would please help me and give me any infomation on this subject.

Can my mom turn him into the law, or am I at legal age?

Re: Dating an older guy.

In Mo. the age of consent is 17. That means if the teen is 17 and one day old, he or she can consent to have sexual relations with a person 21 or older (actually 17 or older). That said, the age differance you are speaking about here is very wide. Those 14 years of living give an adult pause in approving the relationship.

The 32 year old should also have pause to this as well. If you are intent on seeing this older man, at least connect with a school or religious or even a legal counselor so that you can work out the feelings you have that will define an age gap such as the one you describe.

Good Luck.
