Legal Question in Employment Law in Missouri

Fair Pay

I have worked for the same private golf course for the last twenty, when I started I was making 5.00 a hour now I am making 9.30. Over the summer a young man was hired at the starting wage of 10.00 a hour he just works on the course,I am the mechanic. Is there a law against this?

Re: Fair Pay

You may be the victim of age discrimination. The big question posed by the information you submitted is: "Are the two positions (yours and the young man's) comparable?" I would need more information to answer that question.

If the positions are sufficently comparable, then you could force your employer to pay you more in the future as well as pay you for the period of time during which they were discriminating against you.

Do not delay, if you are going to seek some legal action do so immediately. This situation will not get better with time. Also, the passage of time could work to extinguish your rights.
