Transvestite in gender specific job

Does a female impersonator have the legal right to hold a job that is gender specific (female)? I.E. as a residential monitor for a women's shelter

Were you fired because they found out you weren't a female? Without the underlying facts, it's impossible to respond. I can tell you that impersonating a female doesn't legally, or biologically, make you a female, otherwise it wouldn't be called impersonating. Thus, if the job is only open to females you have to be a female to get the job.
