How can I evict a roommate who is on the lease if he does not pay his half of the rent?

You may not be able to evict the roommate immediately. But, you can sue for any portion of his share of the rent/utilities that you have to pay in order to avoid getting evicted yourself. Once you have judgment, then you might be able to seek and eviction (if the landlord agrees).
