Return of Security Deposit
Our former landlord has refused to return our security deposit in full and has not met statutory requirements for contact with us regarding same. What are our options? I have already written two letters. He thinks he is entitled to keep deposit, I disagree.

If you have followed the statutory requirements in Chapter 535, then sue in small claims court for your deposit, and, if he did not provide an itemized list within 30 day, for double the amount of the deposit.
