Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Missouri

i went and picked up my boyfriends script at wal mart i also get the same medication. He went to get it and it wasnt there he told them it must of been stolen. They seen that i picked it up and said said that neither one of us can ever fill there again. Can the pharmacist contact our doctors and tell them this information. Im scared the doc wont refill my scripts if he did. Isnt that a violation of the hippa law

Teh conversation between doctor and pharmacy probably does not violate HIPAA, as you probably gave your doctor permsion to discuss your prescriptions with you pharmacist, and vice versa. But, it may be slander for either to say that you stole a prescription.

Ask yourself this, "do you want to continue to use a parmacy that gives your prescrition to someone that says they are your girlfriend/boyfriend? The Pahrmacy messed up in allowing you to pick up the prescription, and may have violated HIPAA in doing that. They messed up again in telling your boyfriend that it was stolen.

Good luck
