Legal Question in Personal Injury in Missouri

Suing for defamation of character

I was falsely arrested for felony shoplifting at a major department store, and subsequently found not guilty in court. I would like to sue for personal injury, since this has caused me serious financial and health problems. Is this something I can do on my own? I can not seem to find an attorney interested in taking this case. I'd like to know what would be required to sue, if I can do this on my own, and what the time limit is.

Re: Suing for defamation of character

The suit you are contemplating is for Malicious prosecution- you allege that you were prosecuted without good basis. Without knowing more about how, where and when the incident occurred, it is difficult to give you much more advice than that.
