Legal Question in Personal Injury in Missouri
unresponsive lawyer
I have had a slip and fall case with a law firm for almost six years, and we have not been to trial yet. They keep sending requests for billing approval to the court, yet are unable to keep me updated or respond to direct questions...are they bleeding this for all they can get? It appears this is thier only stratedgy? What should I do?

Ask your attorney for an accouting for all time billed wihtin the las tyear, and all work that has been done. You may also ask for your file. It belongs to you, but thye may make acopy for their use and records. If you feel that too little is being done, or the attonrey cannot explain to your satisfaction why the case has taken so long, you may need to change attorneys. But, before you do that, get all the information first.
