Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

In July I notified my Condo Association that my roof was leaking and I had water damage from this in my upstairs bathroom and the ceiling below in the kitchen. I sent them pictures of the damage. The end of July the roof was repaired. I was told by the President of the association that I would be contacted by the insurance company. Nothing! Then in September the president advised me to get a plumber in to verify that it wasn't from the pipes. I did. On October 6, I gave them them the info from the Plumber that stated was not the pipes that it was damage from the hole in the roof. No Response! So I chose not to pay my condo fees. One way or another they were going to contact me. Finally in December I received a note that they were going to take me to court if I didn't pay my fees. At that point I discussed with the condo association president that I would pay on the conditions that my ceilings were repaired. She agreed. Now it has been 2 and a half weeks and no calls from any insurance company or condo president. What do I do? My fees are due Friday.

It sounds like you may have to sue the condo association. You might hire an attonrey to write to the board to get them to pay (or have insurance pay claim) prior to suit being filed.

Good luck
