Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

My mother-in-law paid for me to build her a small detached guest house on my property. My primary residence is also on this same property. We have no contract between us except the understanding we will help her live there independently as long as possible. If we still own the property when she passes away, would her other heirs (besides my wife) have any legal claim to our guest house?

The other hiers might have a vialbe claim for the improvements to your property. It woudl most likeluy be made by the Personal Representative of her estate. They may also have a claim to all of her personal belongings that are there.

Good luck
