Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

Stolen Home

My fiance and (ex) best friend use to purchase homes fix them and sell them together and split equally. My fiance went to jail Feb 2007 I was left POA for his properties he and his friend had 1 property together when he went to jail he signed his 1/2 to his friend so it wouldnt be a problem when is was to be sold they had a tenant living there when he left and I would give his friend his 1/2 of rent each mth. The tenant moved in Oct 2007 his friend told me not to look for a new tenant because it was being sold, come to find out he sold the property Dec 2007 and basically said he wasnt giving my fiance his 1/2. do you think there is anyway we can get the money? Ive tried finding an attorney in the area but is having no luck. I have all the paperwork on the property my fiance was more of the bus. man the rent was deposited into his acct. under his bus. name. Please if you can help me with any type of info. it would be appreciated. His kids have had to come home from college because of this his friend knew that was suppose to be their college money.

Re: Stolen Home

If your fiance did a proper quit claim deed to his partner, then there is probably nothing that can be done to undo that deed. Hoever, if it swa spart of abusines venture of their partnership, then as POA can pursue the partner for your fiance's portion o fhte sales proceeds. You di dnto explain why you have nto been able to find an attorney. Was it because of money, or did none of the attorneys that you spoke with feel you had a viable case? Did you show yoru paperwork to any of the attorneys you contacted?

Good Luck
