Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri

Legal Malpractice?

My husband hired a lawyer for a traffic violation. The lawyer was paid his fee the very day he received the ticket. Instead of taking care of the ticket the lawyer postponed the ticket 6 times before forgetting about it altogether. Because he did not pay the courts my husband was arrested on his way to a hunting trip with one of my bosses in the car with him. We lost money hiring a bail bondsman and my overtime at work. He said he would pay us what we were out but never has. Do we have any recourse?

Re: Legal Malpractice?

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about that unfortunate situation. My first reaction is that you should contact the attorney who was working on the traffic matter and find out what happened. That attorney should address the situation. If this is not an option, you may wish to contact another attorney to work on getting your husband's arrest record expunged and getting a plea deal. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.
