Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri

Good day. after 4 and half years my father's estate has not been completed. My sister who lives in Virginia refuses to transfer the stocks to myself and my other sibblings. Probate has been completed. I have left phone messages and send may e mails to her.The only response I received was a e mail sent from her on September 02 stating she would transfer the stocks to us. Still no stocks. Can you please advise what can be done to have her finish up the estate. Thank you

You will need to have an attorney file something on your behalf in the Probate Court in question. You don't tell us the state that of the probate proceeding. Depending on precisely what you mean by "not completed" that may be a proceeding to have your sister removed as an executor, or some sort of motion to compel distribution or something along those lines. It is a little difficult to know without having a lot more detail. In Missouri it is rare that a probate estate will stay open that long absent something rather particular. Do you know why it was not closed long ago?

I agree with Mr. Herndon. You need to provide more facts and you need to take legal action sooner rather than later to ensure the assets are not dissipated in an unlawful manner, which unfortunately is often the case when unnecessary and unexpected delays occur. Best of luck.
