Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri

Trust and Wills

My grandmother passed away 1 year ago. Her son / my uncle was the trustee for her trust and made numerous amendments to the trust during her last years of life. How do I obtain a copy of the original trust document so that I can compare the original trust with the latest version of the trust document?

Re: Trust and Wills

Normally Trust documents are not public documents as are Wills and Deeds. However, if real estate was involved, the Trust instrument itself might be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds in the County where the real estate was located. Also, if there is sufficient evidence of fraud, duress, undue influence, coercion, mental incapacity to amend the trust, or other factors it might be possible to file a lawsuit and see what you can find out through the formal discovery process in litigation.
