Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Montana

Credit card company taking me to court

a credit card company is taking me to court for non-payment. What can they do to me.? I am a single mother of one w/another on the way. I own nothing, I don't have a car, no job, living w/ my parents , going through a long nasty divorce, trying to get back on my feet.

Re: Credit card company taking me to court

Sounds like they'll have trouble getting blood out of a

stone, so to speak.

You can go to court to tell that to the judge and he'll

probably ask, "well, how much can you pay (weekly)?" and

then require you to pay that much.

I would offer to the company directly to save them the

court costs and make an agreement directly with them;

it will save you from going to court that day, and save

them some legal costs as well; it might even help your

credit record eventually, since court is a big black

mark.

Good luck.
