Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Montana

Refused Payment

I have a dental bill for $4300.00 and a non profitable organization paid $1200.00 toward my bill and the dentist refused the payment. Am I still under obligation for this debt since payment was refused?

Thank you for your help,

Natalie

Re: Refused Payment

Yes, under the facts given so far. If the debt is yours to begin with, and the non-profit agency has not "personally" assumed the debt (with a novation), then this will remain your debt in full. If the "non-profit" organization is a debt settlement type company, the answer remains the same. However, you may have other options available under the circumstances.
