prison sentence with suspended time on probation
montana requires probation during suspended portion of a prison sentence and on a suspended sentence. this is supervised by probation and parole dept. Does this conflict with the definition of a ''suspended'' sentence?

Not at all. It means a term of imprisonment has been suspended in favor of probation for a specified time.
