Legal Question in Insurance Law in Montana

Insurance checks

Ive recieved 2 checks that total up to $18,000. They say its a refund from overpayment and deductibles that have been met. I don`t know why we are getting them. I`ve cashed them and put the into a savings. What should I do? Say nothing and see what happens? I don`t know what to do with this money. I`m I setting myself up for trouble by keeping it?

Thank you

Re: Insurance checks

Maybe your insurer owes it. Consider asking your insurance agent to obtain a detailed accounting for you. That should explain the what and why of this. If an error oddurred, or if owed to you, it will be cleared up either way. And if you don't have an agent or broker, simply write a letter to the insurance company asking for this information.
