Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Montana

I to write a short power of attoreny so my mother can register my vehical and I

Hello,

I am stuck in maine due to my car completely kicking the bucket. My boyfriend bought me a little car and I have to register it in my home state of montana before I can drive home. My DMV office said I need to give my mother a power of attorney so she can register the car. I tried loking online to find something suitable, but I can't find anything that seems right. I just need to type up something before 3:00pm today and ship it out to her. Can you please help me with the wording? Thank you!

Stuck in maine,

Interesting dilemma. I am afraid that I cannot help you with specific wording, and I do not know what Montana may formally require. However, I suggest that you use the words "Power of Attorney", state the limited purpose of the power, provide identifying information as to who will use the power, and have it witnessed by 2 others and notarized. Again- this may be more than is necessary in Montana, but it seems as thought you want to get it accepted on the first try.
