Legal Question in Family Law in Nebraska

custody

I have full custody of my daughter. She has been living with my parents for four years in Nebraska. I want to move her here so we can be a family now that I have the means to do it. Can I do this legally without having to go to court and having to pay huge costs Since I have full custody of her can I just tell them that shes moving in with me? There were never any papers signed for them to have custody only for temporary custody.

Re: custody

You need to hire a lawyer first.

I would advise a client to not alert the parents to the plan, if the client expected any resistance. If you have a valid court order placing the child in your custody, and your living situation is able to survive the scrutiny, then you can pick up your child and return to Texas.

Expect a court battle, and be prepared in advance with an attorney to properly advise you before you take action.
