Legal Question in Family Law in Nebraska

Grandparents??

My husband and I are married and have 2 children with one on the way. My father in law wants to hve the kids overnight but we do not trust his significant other and fear for our children's safety. My father in law is going to try to fight for visitation on our kids, Can he do this when my husband and I both agree this isn't safe? What laws protect us in Nebraska? Does he have any rights since both my husband and I are still alive and very much active in our children's lives? Please advise us on what we should or can do to prevent my father in law to take our children. We do not deny him to come see our children, he just is allowed at our place or when we are around. He does not get our kids alone(with us not around). Thanks sarah

Re: Grandparents??

If you and your husband are in agreement on this issue, then you need not do anything unless and until father-in-law files a petition for visitation. Then you simply respond by citing your concerns. He effectively has no rights in this type of case anyway.
