Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Nebraska

Trademark permission

Im looking to start a home business of creating pinata's for birthday parties. I want to use cartoon and action charaters such as Superman, Spiderman, Scooby Doo, ect...

I would sell them locally and maybe on the internet.

Questions:

Do I need permission? Can I get permission? If so..

How much normally does it cost?

How long is the permission for?

What are the normal guidelines of useage?

Who do I contact to get permission?

Can you recomend a web site that may contain information on this subject. Thank you.

Re: Trademark permission

Thank you for your question. You will need to obtain licensing agreements for the cartoon characters you want to use. I would start first with the studios that own the characters and see if you can talk to either their licensing department or legal department. Because you are a small business, don't be surprised if you have trouble getting anyone to responde.

Good luck in your venture!
