Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Nebraska

emancipation nebraska

I am 16 my parents are agreeing to emancipation. I am studding for my ged I have a job but I have only had it for a little while now. I want to move out of state with my girl friend and her mother. I was wondering how good of a chance I have being emancipated in court?

Either you will, or you won't. It's at this point, 50-50. Once you get into court demonstrate your case to teh judge, your odds will change. Until then, no one can tell you. Just do the best preparation you can (get that GED!) and in 2 years, it won't matter anyway!

One note, since your parents are supportive, if for some odd reason it doesn't go through, they can give you permission to go anyway and give her mother "parent"-type guardian rights for 2 years.
