Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nebraska

shared housing

I live in a house with a woman who's name is also on the house with mine. We are not married, and things have deteriorated. She left the property and intends to come back once I've gone out of town. She wants to live here while I'm gone. I don't want her back in the house, especially while I'm gone, is there anything I can do. I make all the payments on the house. There is no equity in the house, and a significant amount of damage from pets that she brought in. With her name on the house, is there any way that I can legally keep her out?

Re: shared housing

You will probably need to hire a lawyer to untangle the house from the broken relationship unless you and her can both agree to sell the house jointly, or for one of you to buy a quitclaim deed from the other party. If there is a mortgage in both names, you will want to make sure the mortgage is extinguished by a refinancing.
