Re: asylum denied

I would want to discuss this in greater detail with you and there might be a couple of ways of handling this. This is not an exact science, one based on local practice and strategical decisions.

Re: asylum denied

Why was your asylum application denied? If it was denied, then it should be referred to the immigration judge -- why can't you go before an immigration judge if you have a fear of returning to nepal? You should not be afraid of that. First of all, you are still in status, so nothing is going to happen to you. Second, after you graduate, you have 1 years that you can work in a position for practice. During that time, if you really fear going back to nepal, a good immigration lawyer can make a case that can hopefully have your asylum granted by the immigration judge. You can fight for your case, but make certain that you have a good case. The court does not want to hear that you are afraid of returning to nepal because you won't find a job -- not good enough! Get to a lawyer, FAST! and good luck to you.
