Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Netherlands

regarding to a price money awarded to me

In a mail from Netherlands, a europw lotto plus company informed me that you had won a prize money of 1,500,000 euros. They asked me to come to Netherlands to take the money. As I am not in a position to go to Netherlands, I asked them for an alternative. Then, they appointed an Attorney to act on behalf of me. Now, the attorney is asking me some 1000 euros for affidavit, noterization, stampduty etc., as legalization charges. He was the attorney belongs to lawguru.com. you know in India, 1000 euros equals to 60,000 Rs. equals to an two years annual income of Indian. Now can I believe him or not, please give me a suggestion. As there is no time now, I need your quick feed back. Waiting for your earliest response.

This requires a lot of due diligence in the first place. Please forward this e-mail declaring you have won prize money to us and other mails received from them.Did you participate in any lottery draw? How did they choose you as winner? This seems to be yet another plot of phising attack! In any case ,your attorney should be chosen by you rather than them and you will agree that the attorney's name and identity can be fake too. Primafacie, this seems to be a ploy to commit a cyber fraud!

First of all what was the basis on which they selected you. Did you purchase any lottery ticket or did you participate in any contest. Most of the time people in India get such freak mails announcing that they have won Millions euro. In most of the case these are fraudulent and are floated with a view to extract money from gulible people. I guess this seems to be one such case, though I am not very sure. So whatever steps you take you should be careful.

For better assistance you must give the details of the lottery company etc.
