Legal Question in Family Law in Netherlands

Dutch Divorce

My fiance is Dutch and we are getting a K-1 visa. He was married twice in Holland, the first marriage ended by divorce in the court. The second was ended by a No Fault Divorce, without court. Both divorces are legal in Holland, but he is afraid the US will not accept the second divorce as legal and consider him free to be married in US. We are in the final stages of getting the K-1 visa and now our question is, will the US recognize both divorces as legal and accept us as free to be married here?

Re: Dutch Divorce

You will need to provide verification that under Dutch law, he is divorced. This is usually done with divorce decree. What evidence do you have that he is divorced. Since getting k-1, are you getting it at an embassy. If so, maybe get a legal opinion letter from a local attorney. Just a thought. Good luck
