Legal Question in Technology Law in Nevada

Potential liability for content on website

While living in Canada I am also suject under laws in the USA when I post on american websites.

The website is for people who enjoy picking locks for a hobby. They are but a simple mechanical puzzle. The site offers info that is available in any public library. No secret material is posted.

If Steve, a 16 year old kid in the USA logs on, learns how to pick locks from our site, might the victims of Steve's B&E spree have a cause of action against the admin / webmaster and/or authors of content at the site.

Does the fact that the info is availble from many other websites and public libraries absolve our site from liability.

Do you realize there are websites with instructions to make nuclear devices?

I wouldn't worry about liability. Even in the USA we still have the 1st Amendment.
